With little over a week to go for the Night Mayor elections in Amsterdam, Jennifer Hopelezz’ campaign can count on the support of many in and outside of Amsterdam’s GLBT community. Among her supporters are famous artists such as DJ Joost van Bellen and photographer Erwin Olaf, popular parties such as XXXLeather and Furball, Holland’s national GLBT-rights organisation COC, and yes, even Mr Leather Europe has come out of the closet as a warm supporter of Amsterdam’s first political drag queen running for the highest office of the night.
Below you can read Jennifer’s latest press release. All details on Jennifer’s campaign can be found at her website: www.jenniferhopelezz.com.
Anyone can help making the 2010 Night Mayor election truly historical by coming to De Melkweg on Friday the 19th of February at 10PM (entrance fee – incl. voting ticket – a mere €6) and voting Jennifer Hopelezz 4 Night Mayor!
Dear citizen of Amsterdam,
Friday the 19th of February the new night mayor of Amsterdam will be elected at de Melkweg. The night mayor represents the Amsterdam night life for two years and can fill in his position as he or she wishes to.
We support JENNIFER HOPELEZZ
Jennifer Hopelezz is the incarnated symbol of tolerant Amsterdam. Not only does she have all that is needed to fight for the freedom of all Amsterdam citizens, she also has the elegance, persuasiveness and the contacts to stop the continuing decay of our city. Above all, during the next two years she will be a visible night mayor. Which is exactly what we need to keep reminding all Amsterdam citizens to their promise to be tolerant.
We love Amsterdam and think it’s time for change and a clear statement. That’s why we ask you to come join us at de Melkweg on Friday the 19th of February and vote for our candidate.
Voting is only possible that night at de Melkweg from 10PM onwards. The entrance and voting ticket cost six euro and can be bought at the door or in presale at www.beatfreax.com/ticketshop. Do be at the venue before 12PM.
Let’s make history!
